Chester Perry Company was conceived in 1971 by Massimo Osti, an italian graphic designer who mixed up the attention to details, an extraordinary creativity and unique procedures to achieve the impeccable recipe for a successful brand. He was the creator of Stone Island, Bonneville and Mastrum too. Osti and his staff started to use avantguard techniques in the 70s. The most famous one is garment dyeing: it allows to obtain a sophisticated effect by dyeing a non-coloured cloth at the end of the manufacturing process, giving it powerful depth and intensity.

This method is employed in the leading fabric of C.P. Company, 50 fili, realized in 1975 by Massimo Osti. Its peculiarity is the composition, 50% nylon (weft) and 50% cotton (warp), obtaining at the same time the softness of cotton and the technical function and the resistance of nylon.In addition to this, 50 fili offers iridescent and 3D effects.

Literally “Internally Colored Envelope”, this is the newest development of the garment dyeing technique, that uses a pigment based process. As mentioned by the designer, “it emphasizes further the different types of nylon yarns and the irregularity of the finished fabric”, producing a vintage look.

As mentioned by the designer, C.P. Shell “has become the contemporary benchmark for transeasonal fabrics”. Indeed, it owns a high breathability, protection and it is comfortable and windproof, thanks to its weather resistant skin bonded combined with a lightweight mesh. 

Perfectly water repellent, Memri is a densely woven polyester/nylon micro-fibre canvas. The torsion and the density of the fabric guarantee creases and wrinkles, giving Memri an old-fashioned and interesting look.

Softer, but at the same time stronger than any other cotton, Makò is a high quality and premium cloth.

THE GOGGLE

One of the most innovative features of C.P. Company is definitely the Goggle.Massimo Osti had a Japanese Civil Defence hood in his clothing archive. This hood had the distinctive trait of two lenses placed at eye level.Therefore in 1987, Osti caught this idea to create the Explorer Jacket, with two lenses sewn into an extended collar.Additional studies, including anti-gas goods, convinced C.P. to move the lenses from the collar to the hood. Furthermore, another lens is placed on the sleeve, useful to look at the watch.The new Goggle Jacket, born in 1988, was the sponsor of the Mille Miglia car race, symbolizing its versatility to every circumstance, even those wilder.
